A decrepit British hanger at Whalers Bay on Deception Island, in the South Shetland Islands near the Antarctic Peninsula. Whalers Bay is the site of a Norwegian whaling base operating from 1911-1931 when it was abandoned due to the decline of the whaling industry. In 1944 the British used the building for a base they operated here until 1969 when they too abandoned the base, this time due to volcanic activity.
